Embargo Policy

Annals of Internal Medicine is published on the first and third Tuesday of every month. All press and media materials are embargoed for 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern time the day before the date of publication. Advance information about articles in upcoming issues of Annals of Internal Medicine is provided to registered reporters as a service to them with the understanding that they will honor the embargo. Reporters who disregard the embargo policy can be penalized by no longer receiving advance information.

Tip Sheets and News Releases

The "tip sheet" is distributed by e-mail to registered media 5 to 7 days in advance of the publication date. News releases are periodically distributed on studies and articles of special interest. In addition, embargoed tip sheets and news releases are simultaneously posted on EurekAlert. Tip sheets and news release are posted on the Annals of Internal Medicine Web site on the day of publication. Past tips sheets are accessible as well.

Any outside press materials about studies or articles created by authors or their institutions must be reviewed and approved by the ACP Communications Department before distribution.

The ACP Communications Department accepts registration only from accredited members of the news media. To register with ACP's Communications Department, pressroom{at}acponline.org or call 800-523-1546, extension 2514, or 215-351-2514.
