A heavily and beautifully illustrated extensive “manual” (as the author puts it) prepared for clinicians who are not dermatologists. The opening chapter illustrates the main types of cutaneous lesions (such as bullae, nodules, and scales) and their varieties, diagrammatically shows the structural basis of these lesions, and lists (with cross-references) the diseases in which these lesions are manifestations. The chapters on the diseases illustratively elaborate lesion types, discuss further diagnostic steps, and recommend therapies. The appendix is a dermatologic formulary.
