LETTER
Correction: American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in U.S. Travelers
Barbara L. Herwaldt;
Susan L. Stokes; and
Dennis D. Juranek
15 July 1993 | Volume 119 Issue 2 | Page 173
The abstract conclusion and the precis on the table of contents contained errors introduced during the editorial process regarding the geographic areas in which U.S. travelers have acquired American cutaneous leishmaniasis. The abstract conclusion should not have included the state of Texas and should have read as follows:
Travelers to forested areas in Mexico and Central and South America and their physicians need to be educated about the risk for acquiring leishmaniasis even during short stays, as well as about effective preventive measures and appropriate medical management.
